Tonya Sue Fluharty Brand, age 40 of Fairmont, WV passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, April 23, 2019. She was born in Fairmont, WV on April 5, 1979. She was a graduate of North Marion High School Class of 1997 and attended Computer Tech from 1997-1999. She was also a graduate of the University of Phoenix with a degree in Criminal Psychology.
Tonya was employed as a substitute teacher for the Marion County B.O.E. and the secretary for Worthington Services. She was a devoted mother and wife. She was an avid soccer mom who would video all her children’s games and was their biggest fan. She also loved music and going to concerts.
Tonya is survived by her parents, Wanda and Michael Tobrey of Worthington and Roger and Barb Fluharty of Mannington; the love of her life was her husband, Joseph Aaron “Joey” Brand whom she married on March 25, 2000; her three children, Cody Logan, Xander Thomas and Abigail Grace Brand, who all loved her very much; 3 brothers, Chet (Liz) Tobrey of Bridgeport, Adam (Autumn) Fluharty of Mannington, Chip (Misty) Rogers of Mannington; 2 sisters, Chanell (Tom) Sands of Clarksburg and Shannon (Jay) Gillespie of Beverly; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Barry Sr. and Margaret Brand of Fairmont; a sister-in-law, Marie Brand of Fairmont; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, as well as her dog Bailie.
Tonya was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charles “Dallas” and Lucy E. (MawMaw) Moore, and her uncles Mark and Terry Moore.
Family and friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, Mannington, WV on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 4-9:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 in the funeral home at 1:00pm with Pastor Jerry Bush officiating.
