Betty Jane Printz, 87, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away at Meritus Medical Center on Thursday, April 18, 2019.
Born March 27, 1932 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Naomi (Martz) Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell F. Printz, Jr; her son, Russell F. Printz, III; and brother, George Smith.
Betty worked at Hagerstown Shoe Company, and was employed with the Washington County Board of Education as a cafeteria aid. Then she owned and operated Betty’s Canvas Shop. During her life, she donated her hair five times to Locks of Love.
She is survived by three daughters, Debbra Dupree and husband, David, of Harpers Ferry, WV, Betty Herbert of Hagerstown, MD, and Samantha Cunningham and husband, Duane, of Pinesburg, MD; four sisters, Catherine Smith, Mabel Reynolds, and Doris Boward, all of Hagerstown, and Marie Edwards of LaValle, MD; sister-in-law, Bonnie J. Printz of Hagerstown; brother-in-law, John J. Printz of Hicksville, MD; seven granddaughters; and 13 great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Eric Henderson and Pastor Rachael Black will officiate. Burial will be in Beaver Creek Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
