A retired music and elementary school teacher, Irma Ruth Allert died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, in Vancouver. She was 81.

Mrs. Allert taught school in Ritzville, Wash., 20 years before working for the Beaverton (Ore.) School District where she retired in 1982.

She was born Dec. 10, 1919, in Ralston, Wash.

Survivors include two daughters, Danette Leisle of Vancouver and Raelene Long of Fairfax, Va.; one son, Wally of Walnut Grove, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Mrs. Allert loved music and was an accomplished piano player. She also loved reading and needlework.

A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Private burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
