Carolyn I. Duveneck, age 84, of 1125 S. 35th St., Manitowoc, died early Sunday morning, May 13, 2007 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.

Carolyn was born on July 21, 1922 in Tipler, Wis., daughter of the late Henry and Marie (Kasten) Henning. She was a graduate of Florence High School in Florence County, Wis. with the class of 1939. On June 7, 1947 she married Alfred A. Duveneck at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on June 13, 1995. Following her graduation from high school Carolyn attended the School of Cosmetology in Appleton. She then co-owned and operated a beauty salon in Manitowoc for several years before starting her family.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Kristin and Michael Erdmann, Manitowoc; three sons and two daughters-in-law: Keith and Pamela Duveneck, Two Rivers, Kevin Duveneck, Manitowoc, Kent and Paula Duveneck, Haven, Wis.; six grandchildren: Chad (Sara) Erdmann, Sara (Jeremy) Wernicke, Lisa Erdmann and fiancé Todd Gilmore, Erin Erdmann, Annika Duveneck, and Karissa Duveneck; six great-grandchildren: Michaela, Mackenzie, Isaac, Bryce, Kailey, and Brayden; one loving sister: Henrietta Henrickson, Two Rivers; one sister-in-law: Jane Henning, Appleton; two brothers-in-law: Carl Duveneck, and Elroy (Bud) Duveneck; one sister-in-law: Leona Thiele, all of Manitowoc; and two special Goddaughters: Dawn Erdmann and Sue Wiesner. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

Carolyn also was preceded in death by three brothers: Marvin, Franklin, and Victor Henning; one sister-in-law: Lorraine Henning; and one brother-in-law: Raymond Henrickson.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Thomas Pankow with burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday evening May 15, 2007 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and on Wednesday morning May 16, 2007 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Holy Family Hospital, Bellin Hospital, and Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, for their care and concern during Carolyn's brief illness.

Carolyn was a faithful Christian woman who devoted her life to her family and home. Although we will miss her deeply, we rejoice that she is now in her eternal rest with our Savior, Jesus Christ.
