Louis W. Feit, age 88, of 1202 E. Thomas St., Manitowoc, died early Monday morning, March 13, 1995, at the family residence.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, 1995, at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. William Zimmer. Burial will be at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, town of Kossuth.

Louis was born November 29, 1906, in the town of Franklin, Manitowoc County, son of the late John and Mary Swoboda Feit. He attended school at St. Joseph’s Catholic School and continued his education at St. Joseph’s High School, both in Kellnersville. He was employed with the Pauly Cheese Company and then later with Mirro Aluminum Company from where he retired in 1972. He was a foster parents for 27 years, taking care of 45 children during those years. Louis was the 4-H leader for the Goal Seekers 4-H Club here in Manitowoc for 21 years. With his wife, Helen, they both developed the Feit Arboretum at Camp Tawanda and maintained it until 1992. He married the former Helen Swetlik April 20, 1932, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Manitowoc Senior Citizen Center.

Survivors include his wife, Helen four sons and one daughter-in-law, Donald Feit, Baytown, Texas, Robert Feit, Mishicot, Richard and Lou Ann Klopfer, Florissant, Mo., Keith Fritschka; three daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and David Wilhelm, Wisconsin Rapids, Jean and Arnold Dewey, Two River, Diane and Conrad Hrdina, Two Rivers; one brother-in-law, and sister-in-law, Ludwig and Malitta Swetlik, Two Rivers; two sisters-in-law, Rose Feit, Denmark and Frances Swetlik, Maribel; 15 grandchildren 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.

Friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc, Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. There will be a prayer service held at 7:30 p.m. led by Father Zimmer.
