Benjamin is listed in the 1850 and 1860 Monroe County, MO census records for his parents. He served in the U.S. Army during the Civil War. Benjamin was single and farming in Shelby Co., MO in the 1870 census. He married Annie Mitchell of KY on 15 February 1879 in Randolph, MO. Benjamin & Annie were farming in Woodlawn Twp., Monroe Co., MO in the 1900 and 1910 census. I took his birth date from the 1900 census for this memorial.

Benjamin and his widow Annie received a Civil War pension due to him having been an Army Invalid. According to the records related to the pension at Familysearch.org, he died on 8 July 1912. I'm not finding proof as to where he was buried, but it appears that his widow Annie, his parents, and some of his siblings were buried in this cemetery. Why would the family have buried Annie in this cemetery if Ben wasn't buried there, too?
