"Mr. Haid Huffman, born and reared in the Eighty Eight country, but who left here for Booneville, Ind., many years ago, died at his home in Boonville, Wednesday of last week, at the age of 97 years. He was twice married, to Indiana ladies, sisters, as we are told, but his family are not known here. The nearest relative we understand are one nephew, Mr. Toff Huffman, and a niece, Mrs. Ellen Baldock, both of Eighty Eight. No brother or sister are living. The burial was in the cemetery at Boonville.
"Mr. Huffman was from a long line of soldiers. He was a veteran of the Civil War, and his father, Thomas Huffman, a veteran of the War of 1812 and buried near Eighty Eight, was the son of Ambrose Huffman, a Revolutionary War soldier buried near Nobob."
