William Elester Storey, 82, died on April 26, 2019, at his residence in Brenham. Burial will be at Masonic Cemetery in Chappell Hill.

William was born on October 14, 1936, in Coudersport, Pennsylvania, to the late Daniel Elester and Edith Mildred Lounsberry Storey. He married Zada Alexander on April 25, 1994.

Bill grew up in Pennsylvania and New York. He was a master welder and a dairy farmer. He was very proud of receiving the Governor’s award for energy security and recognition as a Conservation Farm of the Year. After moving to Texas, he worked at three local banks in Brenham and the Banner-Press. Bill was an avid gardener and enjoyed visiting with friends and taking care of his home.

He was preceded in death by his son, Nathan Viggers; brothers, Frank Storey and Jack Storey; and sister, Elaine.

Survivors include his wife, Zada Storey, of Brenham; daughters, Dortha Gerych and her husband, Ken, of Cameron, NY, and Sharon Hoctor and her husband, Rod; grandchildren, Walter Gerych and Lindsey Hoctor; brothers, Arthur Storey and his wife, Frances, of Sweden Valley, PA, and Otto Storey; sister-in-law, Dimple Storey; sister, Helen Thomas; many other relatives and friends.
