FUNERAL HELD SUNDAY FOR MRS. FRED BOEKE
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Community Church for Mrs. Fred Boeke who died suddenly at her home about 4:30 Thursday afternoon. Rev Joseph Andrews of the Presbyterian church at Miller had charge of the services. Music was furnished by a ladies quartet, Mrs. S. N. Bottum, Mrs. Mabel Alarie, Miss Marguerite Hultman and Mrs. L. R. Chesebro, with Mrs. Eva DeHaven at the piano.
Pallbearers were George Carstens, Earl Fritzsche, Len Galbreath, Leo Matthews, James and John McGirr. Burial was made in the Wessington cemetery.
Those from a distance attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Boeke, sons, Loal, Carl and Duane, of Clear Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Boeke of Manchester Iowa, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Ball of Mitchell, and Mr. and Mrs. James Miller of Clear Lake.
Helena E. Leierer was born Jan. 4, 1874, to Louis and Katharina Leierer at Finnemore, Wis. She was married to Fred C. Boeke March 16, 1896, at Hickman, Neb.
Mrs. Boeke has been a resident of the county for 38 years and formerly lived at Hickman, Neb. She was a member of the Presbyterian church.
She is survived by her husband Fred C. Boeke.
Though not feeling very well for several days Mrs. Boeke had worked in the garden in the forenoon and prepared dinner. In the after- as she was talking to her husband she said that she was going to lie down a while before starting supper. As she was going to the couch she fell to the floor and died instantly from a heart attack.
