Venson Abner Going, 92, of Talihina, Oklahoma passed from this life April 29, 2019 in Norman.
Venson was born April 10, 1927 in Watson, Oklahoma to Abner & Caroline (Hudson) Going. He married Sorena Ludlow in July of 1949 and he served in the U.S. Army and National Guard during the Korean Conflict. Venson was a very hard working and dependable man, and when he wasn't working he was serving the Lord at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Talihina. He was easy to get along with and never met a stranger.
Venson is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, son Venson Jr., granddaughter Amanda Green, grandson Lance Green and siblings Dorothy Going, Wallace Going and Rosco Going.
He leaves behind a loving family that includes his children Vernon Going of North Las Vegas, Nevada, Anita & Roger Green of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Watkin "Sonny" Going of Talihina, Tina & Tommy LeMasters of Eufaula, Oklahoma, grandchildren Athena & Raymond Heaton of Talihina, Jamil & Brandi Going of North Carolina, Tausha Going of North Carolina, Keso Going of North Carolina, Amy Stowe of Talihina, Julie Matthews of Checotah, Oklahoma, Stephen Taylor of Tahlequah, Oklahoma great grandchildren, Aniesha Heaton and Rayden Heaton both of Talihina, Erin Going, Christopher Stowe and Zach Stowe all of Talihina, J.T. Storm, Dustin Storm, Lexi Kerr, great great grandchildren Zaelei and Zaedyn Heaton, brother Virgil Going of Paris, Texas as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
