George Q. Cannon, 89, of Orem, Utah, a milk industry executive with the former Dairymen's Association and Meadow Gold Dairies, died yesterday in Orem, Utah.
He was also a businessman and president of the Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii.

Cannon also served on the Aloha Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the Honolulu Council of the Navy League, U.S. Army Quartermasters Association, Geneva Association and the American/Korean Red Cross.

He also was a former chairman of the Honolulu Police Commission.

During the Korean War, he played a key role in organizing the Korean Relief Fund.

Born in Salt Lake City, he is survived by wife Irene Chipman, daughter Mary J. Slater, sons Vance and George Q., nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Services on the mainland.
