Baby Sterling Koehn was born in May 1, 2017. When the first responders in Alta Vista, Iowa, arrived at his home on August 30, 2017, Baby Sterling had already passed away.
Baby Sterling's father had placed the 911 call and when medics arrived, the four-month-old was found in a baby swing in a back bedroom. The medical examiner indicated that Baby Sterling had died of dehydration, malnutrition, and rampant E. coli infection from a diaper rash.
The parents were convicted of first-degree murder.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019, at the Alta Vista Municipal Hall followed by interment in Union Cemetery, Alta Vista. All are welcome to attend.
