George E. Paape, 73, 1152 12th Ave., died Sunday morning at home.
He was born Sept. 11, 1912 in Green Bay to the late George and Rose Paape.
He married Helen Kersten on June 19, 1937.
Mr. Paape owned and operated the Red Owl Store, Reedsville, until 1954. He then owned and operated Pappy's Liquor Store until 1965. He was also a Real Estate Salesman for the Skogg Company, retiring in 1980.
Mr. Paape was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. He also delivered meals for the homebound program.
Survivors include his wife; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Cheryl, Coon Rapids, Minn.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and John Gottschalk, Madison; and Rose Ann and Bill Buttke, Green Bay; six brothers, Willis, Melvin, Harold, Winfred, Frank, and Walter, all of Green Bay; one sister, Mrs. John Wetts, Conroe, Texas; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers; and one sister.
Friends may call at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Lombardi Ave. at Ridge Rd., after 4 p.m. Tuesday. Wake service 7 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Anthony' Dolski officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. A memorial fund has been established for Bellin Hospice.
