Adam, 34 of DeWitt, MI, passed away May 1, 2019. He was born to Paul Joseph Potts and Barbara K. Hamm.

Adam obtained his degree in Electrical Engineering at Lawrence Technological University then worked at Yazaki International for five years. He was beloved by his co-workers and friends as a major part of their team. At work Adam was recently dispatched to build macros and programing logic to increase efficiency and accuracy at work. Adam was always a pragmatic problem solver, and truly enjoyed these kinds of tasks.

Adam enjoyed several hobbies. He flew airplanes at age 14 and even flew solo before he could drive a car. Adam was an avid mountain biker and runner. He completed 2 full marathons, the Detroit Marathon and the Glass Marathon in Toledo. He was an experienced skier and taught his siblings how to sailboard.

Adam was also an impressive tenor and his voice blossomed under the tutelage of then Choir director Stephen Lange during his 4 years in the High School Choir at St. Paul’s Episcopal. His tenor vocals were rated at a perfect score (all 1's) at several competitions during his high school years and he was consistently cast as a soloist in all of the musicals. During his college summers, he was a paid performer at several venues playing piano and singing cover songs as well as some he had written. While still in high school he was asked to sing the Star-Spangled Banner at Lugnut Stadium for their baseball season opener in Lansing Michigan. He has written, recorded, live performed, and produced several heartfelt songs and the recordings are cherished by many.

He was also socially mindful and devoted the last two years to Voters Not Politicians (VNP) to end gerrymandering in Michigan and zealously committed himself to the effort where he lived in Plymouth MI.

His dedication, organizational skills and problem-solving abilities prompted the VNP leadership to promote him until he was the Statewide Organizer & Trainer for regional recruiters.
Throughout this effort, he maintained his full-time job at Yazaki. Adam took great pride in the result of his dedicated efforts along with thousands of others that resulted in a 70% vote mandate ending gerrymandering.

He is survived by his his parents; brother, Eric Potts (Elizabeth Farnham); half-siblings, Lisa Hresko (David Hresko) and Morgan Potts; aunts and uncles, Andy and Laura Potts, Mike Potts (Trudy Wischemann), Mary Edna Everett, Jerry and Diane Murray, David and Melinda Mock.

A visitation was held Tuesday, May 7, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes DeWitt Chapel, DeWitt, MI. A funeral service for Adam will be held Wednesday, May 8th at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, in Lansing. Private family burial will be at DeWitt Cemetery immediately following the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Adam may be made to a charity of your own choosing or to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
