Military service: Co.A, 7th Kentucky Infantry CSA; Enlisted: 26 Sep 1861, Camp Burnett, Hickman Co., Kentucky; In Sept.1862 at Davis Mills, Mississippi on the Cold Water River, he was discharged by Dr.T.F.Clardy; the regimental surgeon, because of wounds received at the Battle of Shiloh. Pension: 17 Jun 1912, #79 - Fulton Co., Kentucky; UCV Camp: James G. Pirtle - Camp #990

His brother, Robert A. Browder, also served in Co.A, 7th Kentucky Infantry.
