Diana Maria Murphy, 64, died April 15, 2019 at her home in Culver after a two-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Diana was born on Dec. 9, 1954 in Chicago to Zygmunt and Ida Kossakowski, who preceded her in death. Diana attended Our Lady of Victory Grade School and The Immaculata High School, both in Chicago. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Illinois in Chicago in 1975.

While working as the Head Nurse on the adolescent unit at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital in Chicago in 1978, she met a young medical student named Duffy Murphy. Diana and Duffy were married on April 28, 1979. Diana moved to Indianapolis to join her husband and continued her nursing career at Riley Hospital for Children.
Diana and Duffy moved to Logansport in 1982 and worked together at the Women's Health Center of Logansport until their retirement.
Diana always considered her family to be her greatest blessing. She is survived by her husband, Duffy; her three children, Darby, Kelly and Sean and their spouses; five grandchildren; and her beloved sister Eva Panczyk.

Darby and her husband, Jerrad Stubbs, live in Woodstock, Illinois with their daughter Emerson (age 1). Kelly and her husband, Brian O'Leary, live in Zionsville with their two sons, Benjamin and Colin (6 and 3). Sean and his wife, Blair, live in Culver with their son and daughter, Brody and Brynn (6 and 3).

Since her retirement, Diana enjoyed spending time with her family and friends at her summer home on Lake Maxinkukee in Culver and at her winter home on Siesta Key, Florida. She will miss especially her dear friends Jim and Barb Hirchak, her sailing buddies Jim and Carolyn Noland and all her beloved friends at Boca Siesta.
