Cecil “Dale” Martin, 87, of Gainesville passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Pecan Tree Health and Rehab Center. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 10, 2019, Fairview Cemetery with Larry Kremlin officiating. No formal visitation is scheduled but family and friends may come by Meador Funeral Home in Gainesville until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening to sign the register book.
Dale was born on July 13, 1931 to Vernon Q. and Lela Alva (Craven) Martin in Gainesville, TX. He married Patsy Jean Rauls April 15, 1958. Mr. Martin only had three jobs in his life, one being the owner and operator of Dales Carpet Shop. He loved his family, enjoyed playing dominoes, fishing and gardening.
Dale is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Brown and husband Paul of Gainesville; son, Greg Martin and wife, Stacey of Gainesville; brother, Gary Martin of Gainesville; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Martin; parents, Vernon and Lela Martin; sisters, Juanita Cason and Dell Bridges and brother, Larry Welch.
