YORK Virginia (Curry) Leader, 84, of Manchester Twp., died, Thursday, June 14, 2007, at York Hos pital. She was the wife of the late Guy A. Leader, Jr. A Celebration of Life Service will be 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 17, 2007, at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, with a viewing from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Burial will be private in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Leader was born in New Freedom, on November 3, 1922, a daughter of the late C. LeRoy and Lida (Slade) Curry. She worked as a bookkeeper for First National Bank in New Freedom and York, and for Guy's Hatchery for many years. She was a homemaker and a devoted mother. She was a 1940 graduate of New Freedom High School and attended Thompson's Business School. She was a member and secretary of New Freedom Women's Club, a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Triangle Chapter 483, and Bon Air Country Club in Glen Rock. Mrs. Leader leaves a son, Guy A. Leader, III of Ephrata; two daughters, Lida Leader Yocum of Plantation, Fla., and Amy J, Leader of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Lindsey and Meredith Yocum, and Emily and Mindy Leader; and a greatgranddaughter, Evelynn Rose Tagliaferro. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan C. Leader; two sisters, Margaret Mertz and Roxy Smith; and a brother, Mervin Curry.
