Esther A. Gilmer, age 94, a resident of Hamilton Memorial Home, Two Rivers, died early Monday morning, Jan. 26, 2004 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.
Private family services for Esther will be held with burial at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc.
Esther was born on May 29, 1909 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Jake and Tillie Malkowski Kraftcheck. On Nov. 20, 1929 she married Floyd Gilmer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 1993. Esther was employed at Mirro Aluminum Company and then at Paragon Electric until her retirement.
Survivors include one daughter: Shirley Link, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law: Curtis and Jackie Gilmer, Two Rivers; six grandchildren: Andrea Zirbel, Jill Levy, Brian and Steve Gilmer, Barry Link and Cheryl Weier; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Jesse and Elaine Gilmer, Ontanogan, Mich. Esther was also preceded in death by one granddaughter: Debbie Loose; one sister: Virginia Paulus; two brothers: Edward and Jim Kraftcheck.
The Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
