EDWIN O. HANSEN

Edwin O. Hansen, Jr., 61, of 933 N. Sixth St., Manitowoc, died Sunday in Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Edmund Olson will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth.
Mr. Hansen was born August 8, 1916 in Manitowoc, son of the late Edwin and Anna Hill Hansen. He attended Manitowoc schools and was graduated from Lincoln High School in 1935. He married Eunice Melford June 26, 1943. Mr. Hansen served in World War II entering the service Oct. 7, 1942 and was discharged Oct. 25, 1945. He was a P.F.C. serving in the Asiatic Theater. For 25 years he was a salesman for Mead Container Corp. retiring in 1973 and was then employed with Manitowoc Company as a technical assistant to the burning shop. His first wife preceded him in death in 1971. He married the former Emma Luckow March 10, 1972. Mr. Hansen was a deputy sheriff, a member of St. Paul Lutheran church and sang in the church choir for 40 years. He was also a member of Manitowoc Masonic Lodge No. 65 F & AM., Manitowoc Chapter No. 16 and Two Rivers-Manitowoc Shrine Club and Manitowoc Senior Citizens.
Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Sandra Daron of New Holstein; a sister, Mrs. Leland (Elaine) Stoer of Two Rivers and nieces and nephews. A sister, Edith Ceaglske Anderson preceded him in death.
Friends may call in Jens Funeral Home, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday until 11 a.m. and in the church from noon until the time of service.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church building fund. The casket will remain closed.
