Mary E. Hasheck, age 84, of 2000 25th St., Two Rivers, died late on Sunday night, Feb. 24, 2008, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Mary was born on Oct. 16, 1923, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Tracy and Martha (Flentje) Thompson. She graduated from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, with the class of 1942. On March 11, 1944, she married Russell Hasheck. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1990. Mary was employed at Schroeder's Department Store for more than 30 years. She was a faithful and active member of Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mary loved her family, music and life. Her life would not have been complete without longtime friends and family, who supported her during her life.

She will be sadly missed by her son: Jeffrey (Karen) Hasheck, Schofield; daughter: Mary Sweeney, Madison; granddaughter: Stacey Sweeney, Madison; niece: Gretchen Evenson; and sister-in-law: Emma Thompson, Massachusetts; stepgrandchildren: Katie and Erik Evenson; Brian Goetsch; and Brian and Marie Murton; and great-grandson: Nathan Murton. She is further survived by many special nieces and nephews, including God-nephews: Bill Snow and Gary Wold; Goddaughter: Doreen DeWilde; very special family: Ric and Marsha Heuer and their children, Nathan and Krissy; and special sons: Kaleb and Owen, Two Rivers; Cassandra Heuer, Rochester, Minn.; and Mickey Veleke, whom Mary considered as her adopted family. Mary was able to continue living in her home largely due to the friendship and assistance of loving family, neighbors and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather: William Stockmeyer; four brothers: Wilbur, Charles and Robert Thompson; and Edward Stockmeyer; two sisters: Lila Nething and Edna Snow; stepsister: Viola Meyer; sisters-in-law: Lucille Thompson; June Thompson; Joyce Stockmeyer; and Katherine Kassel; nephews: Ivy Kassel and Karl Kassel; special niece: Mary Ellen Wiley; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Frank and Elsie Hasheck.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1921 Adams St., Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Kay Richter, with burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Highway 310, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers, on Friday morning, Feb. 29, 2008, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m.
