Mrs. Elmer (Virginia) Uecker, 95, died Friday March 6, 1998 at a local nursing home.
She was born on Aug. 25, 1902 in Seymour, to the late Fred and Minnie (Kitchenmaster) Bishop.
On Oct. 14, 1925 she married Elmer Uecker, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 1988.
She worked as a seamstress at H.C. Prange Co. for 20 years, retiring in 1964 and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church since 1943.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Graham Byrnes, Annandale, Va.; her granddaughters, Suzanne (Mark) Kincy, Oak Harbor, Wash.; and Patricia Byrnes, Burke, Va; and great-grandsons, Michael and Jason Kincy.
In addition to her husband, Elmer, she was preceded in death by her four brothers and five sisters.
Friends may call on Friday, March 13, 1998 after 5:30 p.m. at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Lombardi Ave. at Ridge Rd., with the funeral service at 7 p.m. with the Rev. John Poppe officiating. Entombment will take place at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. A memorial fund has been established for Redeemer Lutheran Church. A special thank you to the staff at Woodside Lutheran Home for their wonderful care.
