Louise Glennabelle "Punkie" Atteberry, 84, of Verona, MO. passed into Heaven on Friday, May 6, 2016.

She was born in Wichita, KS. on September 30, 1931 to Glenn and Viola Hamman and moved to Verona, MO. her junior year, graduating in 1949. She met the love of her life, Claude E. "Spud" Atteberry and they married in Eureka Springs, AR. on October 6, 1950, completing 65 1/2 years of marriage.

She was the mother of Connie Jo "CJ" Davis of Las Vegas, NV., Marilyn Rinker of Aurora, MO. and Cary Rost of Aurora, MO. Their family also included 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She worked at Werner Construction Co. in Verona for several years before moving to the Verona R-VII School District where she worked as a school secretary for 32 years passing on her love to all the children as if they were her own. She loved flowers and plants and enjoyed keeping the yard beautiful, along with sewing and her passion - quilting - making beautiful quilts for all members of the family. She was a member of the Verona Christian Church, Aurora Grand Squares Dance Club and Eastern Star. She and Spud also enjoyed taking many vacations on the back of their Honda Gold Wing motorcycle.

A celebration of her life will be held at her home, 433 Old Aurora Road, Verona, MO. on Saturday, May 14 from 2-5 p.m. The family would love for everyone coming to bring a little written story they remember about her.

Cremation is under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel.
