A group of teens on an overnight camping trip met with tragedy late Saturday when a tree they were cutting for firewood crashed into a tent and killed a popular Arvada High School cheerleader.
Adra Craven, 16, suffered head injuries in the accident about 11:20 p.m. near Rainbow Lakes campground in Boulder County, said Terry Bierwiler, a sheriff's deputy.
...Craven was an outstanding student, cheerleader and volleyball player, Melhouse said.
"She fit the mold of a cheerleader - real peppy, energetic, always real happy, outgoing. I know she was really interested in animals and wildlife, and marine biology was an area she was interested in."
