Mrs. Rose Schwantes, 76, of Rt. 2, Two Rivers, died Sunday afternoon at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital where she had been a patient for the past 10 days.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. at Rockwood Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Rev. David Worgull officiating. Burial will be in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.
Mrs. Schwantes, nee Rose Krause, was born in the Town of Kossuth June 20, 1884, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Krause. She was married April 21, 1909, to Ernst Schwantes after which they operated a farm in the Town of Two Rivers until Mr. Schwantes' death in a farm accident Jan. 20, 1945. She had been residing with a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Brunner of Rt. 2, Two Rivers, for the past six years.
Surviving are two other daughters, Mrs. Wilmer Meissner of Rt. 2, Two Rivers, and Miss Rose Schwantes of Two Rivers; three sons, Ernst of Rt. 2, Manitowoc, Norman of Manitowoc, and Peter of Rt. 4, Manitowoc, 16 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Klein and Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers until 10 a.m. Tuesday when the casket will be taken to the church where the body will lie in state from 11 a.m. until the time of services.
