Mary Elizabeth "Bettie" (Wefel) Henderer was born on on February 29, 1904 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, the daughter of Herman Henry Wefel (1867–1933) and Mary (Nieman) Wefel (1873–1914).

She was married about 1926 to Irving Vance Henderer (1894–1957), and he was the son of Irving Curtis Henderer (1863–1935) and Susan Almira "Susie" (Corbitt) Henderer (1873–1959).

Living at 2608 Sunset Place in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, Bettie was 47 years old, married and had cirrhosis of the liver when she died on September 15, 1951 of a massive hemorrhage at Saint Thomas Hospital.

Survivors included her husband Irvin, brother Herman Wefel of Mobile and her sister Mrs Hooper W Matthews of Nashville.

Funeral Services were held at M S Combs & Company, and burial was September 17th in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville.
