Harry L. "Dewey" Rogala, age 91, formerly of 2118 School Street, Two Rivers, died on Tuesday afternoon, September 17, 2013, at Laurel Grove Assisted Living in Manitowoc.


Harry was born on January 21, 1922, in Manitowoc, son of the late Jacob and Frances (Witczak) Rogala. He graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1940. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. On June 17, 1950, he married Coletta Serena Leist at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on November 26, 1975. Harry was a proud Chicago Cubs fan, and enjoyed playing baseball and bowling in his younger years. He was employed at Hamilton Manufacturing for over 30 years retiring in 1984. Following retirement, Harry volunteered with hospice visitation. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Two Rivers and presently a member of St. Francis of Assisi in Manitowoc.


Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law: Susan Sonkarly, Oshkosh; Nancy and Michael Davis, West Allis; Judith Rogala and Wayne Janusiak, Milwaukee; one son and daughter-in-law: James and Diane Rogala, West Salem; seven grandchildren: Cinnamon, Price, Jameson, Broderick, Justin, Kelly, and Eric (fiancé Kristen); one sister and brother-in-law: Jeanette and Edwin Oswald, Manitowoc; and one brother: Stan Rogala, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.


He was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Antoinette and Melvin Kautzer, Eleanor Rogala, Gertrude and Donald O'Leary; one brother and two sisters-in-law: Joe and Jeanette Rogala, and Angie Rogala.


Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2013, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Grand Avenue in Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. William Brunner. Private burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Two Rivers.


The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, September 20, 2013, at church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Harry's name to Holy Family Memorial Hospice, Manitowoc.
