Fannie L. Long, 84, of El Dorado, died Friday, Dec. 16, 1994, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. Graveside services are 2 p.m. Tuesday in the McGill Cemetery in Potwin. Rev. David Shaffer will officiate the services.

She was born July 18, 1910, in Potwin, the daughter of Albert A. and Mary Alice (Thornbrugh) Gates, and was a lifetime resident of Butler County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Temple Baptist Church.

On July 19, 1934, she and Harry Long were married in Yates Center. He died in 1957.

Survivors include: sons, Jerry Sr. of Leon, Mack of Sylvan Grove; daughters, Marjorie Sampson, Jessica Wright, Judy Ireland, brother, Clarence Gates, sister, Mildred "Peggy" Patterson, all of El Dorado; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, one sister and one son.
