Leola Jeanette Chapman, 85, passed from this life to her next life with our Lord on January 11, 2019, after a long illness.

Born on October 22, 1933, at her grandmother's home in Brinkman, Oklahoma, Leola is the daughter of John D and Mary Leona (Foster) Miller.

After high school, Leola married Harold Adams in 1951. In 1952, their daughter Catherine was born.

After separating from her husband, Leola and Catherine moved to Plainview, Texas.

There she met James E. Chapman and in 1956 they married.

The family moved to Hominy in 1972.

Leola became an active member of the Chamber of Commerce, as well as Hominy's first councilwoman.

Leola loved the outdoors.

She would garden, go fishing, and camping. Winning several awards for her art, Leola had a passion for painting.

She would also make dolls. On occasion, Leola would attend Grace Baptist Church with her daughter, where she would enjoy Brother Elfrink's sermons.

Preceding Leola in death are her parents, her husband of 51 years, a sister, Betty Bush, and two brothers; William J. Miller and Johnnie L. Miller Sr. Leola is survived by her daughter Catherine of Cleveland, her sister-in-law, Bernadette Miller of Hallet, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In her heart is also her good friend and foster daughter, Debra Anson of Cleveland, Oklahoma.

A private remembrance will be held at her home at a later date. Leola will be buried at Hominy Cemetery.
