I believe that Shepherd is the correct name, and was spelled incorrectly on the marker. I could be wrong. This boy was the son of W. & M Shepherd, died March 25, 1853, Aged 4 months 10 days.
Infant Thomas was the first burial in what became Pine Grove Cemetery. His father was one of two men who donated land for the church and cemetery.
