he was an Italian police officer, escort agent of Giovanni Falcone, who was killed along with him, his wife Francesca Morvillo and colleagues Vito Schifani and Antonio Montinaro in the Capaci Massacre.Born in Triggiano, in the province of Bari, after passing the competition in Police he stopped his university studies and moved to Bolzano, the first place of employment. In 1989 he became part of the stock service and on 21 June of the same year he was among the men of the escort who foiled the first attempt on Falcone's life on the Addaura, discovering the bag of explosives left in the small beach of the villa rented by the investigating judge. He had planned his wedding on 20 July 1992.Rocco Dicillo is buried in the cemetery of his native town, where a place and a street have been named after him and where an art biennial is dedicated to him in June, with the subtitle "citizens of the rule of art". Other routes have been named respectively in the municipalities of Bari, Palermo and Noicattaro (BA). The Aula Magna of the I.T.I.S. "Luigi dell'Erba" of Castellana Grotte (BA), he attended before entering the police.The state honored its sacrifice with the awarding of the gold medal to civil value.
