VIVIAN M. VOGT

Vivian M. Vogt, age 84, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, who formerly resided on the family farm with her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Rachel Vogt at 5231 Center Road, Manitowoc, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 20, 2003 at Shady Lane.


Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 23, 2003 at 11 am at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Newtonburg. The Rev. Victor Headrick will officiate with burial to follow in St. John's Cemetery, Newtonburg.


Vivian was born Feb. 11, 1918 in Greenville, Wis., to the late John and Bertha Mantuefel Kluess. She graduated from Appleton High School in 1936. She then graduated from Beauty Culture School and worked as a beautician in Neenah for several years. On Sept. 29, 1945, she married Roland Vogt in Appleton. Mr. Vogt preceded her in death Oct. 10, 1983. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. John's Ladies Aid and the Homemakers Club.


Survivors include four children: Sharon (Scott) Metskas of Stevens Point, Junelle Vogt-Moritz, Dennis (Rachel) Vogt and Bev (Russ) Glaeser, all of Manitowoc; a brother, Erwin Kluess of Minnesota; six grandchildren, Amanda Metskas, Rebecca and Lindsey Moritz, Reuben and Grace Vogt, Timothy (Nicole) Glaeser; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Kluess of Minnesota; also other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a brother and two sisters.


Friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 628 N. Water St., Manitowoc, Wednesday, 4 to 8 pm and Thursday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10 am until the time of services at 11 am.


Memorials appreciated to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church or Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
