Basil G. Moran, 87, Topeka, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018 at home. He was born November 11, 1930, in Blaine, Kansas, the son of Thomas and Geraldine (McCormick) Moran. Basil was a U.S. Army veteran. Basil was employed by Beatrice Foods and All Star Dairy as a maintenance mechanic.

He was a member of Northland Christian Church and a long time supporter of the Topeka Rescue Mission.

On October 25, 1952, he married Betty Winterman in Blaine, KS. She and other survivors include five children: Joan Butera, David Moran, Mary (Mike) Neely, Tom (Sherry) Moran and Kathy (Phil) Barney; seven grandchildren: Michelle (Bob) Lorence, Matt Neely, Jennifer Moran, Justin Moran, Ashley (Jeff) Rickard, Tim (Shannon) Moran, Sean (Alejandra) Moran; three great-grandchildren: Lucy Rickard, Katie Lorence and John Rickard and one brother, Steve Moran and four sisters: Rosemary Moran, Julia Harrington, Pat Dulac and Sue Marti.

He was preceded in death by two children: Theresa Bonham, Stephen John Moran and two brothers: Joe and Jim Moran.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 7, 2018 at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Topeka Rescue Mission, 600 N Kansas Ave, Topeka, KS 66608
