LESTER W BARTZ

Lester W. Bartz, 79 of 14323 Highway XX, Newton, died early Monday July 24, 1995 at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.

He was born April 17, 1916 near Collins, Wis., a son of the late Adolph and Ella Lemke Bartz. He attended We?? School in Manitowoc County. On Nov. 15, 1939, he married Mariann Reiderer in Manitowoc. Lester farmed the family homestead and worked at Brillion Iron Works, Manitowoc Shipyards and Kohler Company. In 1954 the family moved to the Town of Meeme. Lester retired in 1981, after 20 years as a custodian at Meeme Elementary School

He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Louis Corners, where he served on the finance committee and was a church usher.

Survivors include his wife, Mariann, three daughters, Judy (Dick) Harriman, St. Peter, Fla., Nancy (Tom) Weber, Delafield, Wis., Brenda (Al) Steffen, Sheboygan; two sons, Gary (Cindy) Sheboygan, Rick (Beverly) School Hill, two sons-in-law, John Engler, Watertown and Steve Blake, Sheboygan Fall; also 18 grandchildren, five great grandchildren; five sisters-in-law and five brothers-in-law. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Engler and Barbara Blake, and one sister, Victoria Gruett.

Funeral services will be at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Louis Corners, with the Rev. James Bartz, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
