Lonnie, son of Champe Logan Hooberry and Della Holt Hooberry had only been married five years when he died at the age of 49. At the time of his death he was employed as a clerk with Nashville Electric Service. (source - Tennessee Death Certificate).

Lonnie served in WWII and was wounded on a Normandy beach in France during the Allied invasion. The article about His being wounded off the coast of France was published in the Nashville Banner of Nashville, Tennessee, on Sat. 24 June 1944, page 8. Lonnie was awarded the Purple Heart.

Lonnie was again wounded in Germany near the Rhine River. Lonnie married Miss Irene Chappell in 1952.
