Edwin T. Garlieb, Sr., 83, of 14310 Moraine Road, Kiel, died Sunday night, January 1, 1989, at St. Nicholas Hospital, Sheboygan, where he had been a patient for the past ten days.
He was born April 27, 1905 in the Town of Meeme, the son of the late August and Hattie (Fenn) Garlieb. He attended Pigeon River grade school.
On Sept. 10, 1927, he married the former Edna Thieleke in Louis Corners. He farmed all his life on the family homestead in the Town of Meeme. Mr. Garlieb was a life-long member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Louis Corners;
life member of the Kiel Fish and Game Club; member of the Quinney Fishing Club and the School Hill Sportsmen's Club.
Surviving are his wife, Edna; a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn (Raymond) Diem of rural Kiel; three sons, Herbert (Trudy) and Edwin Jr. (Betty) of rural Kiel; and Gary (Pam) of West Allis; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Donna; a grandson, three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Louis Corners, the pastor, James Bartz, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
