IDA (HENSCHEL) GUTSCHOW

Mrs. Ida Gutschow, 85, a former Town of Meeme and Sheboygan resident, died today at Rocky Knoll. She had been a resident of the annex for the past 22 months and a patient in the hospital for two weeks.

The widow of the late Ernst Gutschow, she was born March 16, 1881, in the Town of Meeme, the daughter of the late Christine and Mary Henschel. She was baptized and
confirmed at St. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church in the Town of Centerville.

On May 29, 1904, she was married at St. Peter and Paul Church. They operated the Gutschow home farm in the Town of Meeme for 30 years. Her husband died in May, 1934.
Later she lived with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Karstaedt, Sheboygan.
Mrs. Gutschow was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Louis Corners, and the church's Ladies Aid Society.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Walter (Mabel) Karstaedt, Sheboygan, Mrs. Elmer (Norma) Nagel, rural Valders, and Mrs. Carl (Leora) Prigge, rural Cleveland; three sons, Walter, School Hill, Elwood, Town of Meeme, and Merlin, Plymouth; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Gosse, Longwood, Clark County, Wis., Mrs. Carl Boeldt, Manitowoc, Mrs. Alma Wernicke, Cleveland, and Mrs. Edna Schuette, Neenah.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Adalbert Schultz, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, from 3 p.m. Wednesday to 11 a.m. Thursday and then at the church.
