WALTER R. GUTSCHOW

Walter R. Gutschow, 67, of School Hill, a retired Manitowoc County Highway Department employe, died Tuesday evening at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital, following a three-week illness.
He was born April 11, 1905 in the Town of Meeme, son of the late Ernest and Ida Henschel Gutschow. He attended Woodland School in the district.

On Oct. 25, 1930 he married Norma Raquet of the Town of Schleswig at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Louis Corners. The couple lived at School Hill after marriage.
Mr. Gutschow was a machine operator for the Highway Department until his retirement on July 1, 1970.

He was a life-long member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed, a member of the Men's Club of the church and for 25 years a local secretary and treasurer of the Aid Association for Lutherans.
He was also a member of the church building committe, a former church elder and a member of the School Hill Trap Club.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Zion Church, Louis Corners. Pastor Adalbert Schultz, will officiate with burial in the church cemetery.
