GRACE M HANSEN

Grace M. Hansen, 82, of 1123 Dewey St., Kiel, died Monday morning June 9, 2003 at her home with her loving family around her after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born Aug. 9, 1920 in Louis Corners, daughter of the late Armie L. and Frieda Theel Voigt. Grace was a graduate of the county Normal College, Manitowoc. After graduation she taught school grades 1 through 8 in School Hill from 1940 to 1941.
On May 28, 1941, Grace married Charles W. Hansen at the home of her parents in Louis Corners. Grace worked at Lake to Lake, Kiel for 25 years and also farmed with her husband, Charles and their sons, until 1979. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Louis Corners, a member of the Ladies Aid for 54 years, a farm Bureau board member, the Melody Dancers Dance Club Homemakers Group of Louis Corners and a member of the neighbors card club. Grace and her husband Charles traveled extensively, traveling to all 50 states, Canada, Europe, Ireland, Denmark, Australia, New Zealand and were also cruisers. Grace loved gardening and needlework.
Survivors include two sons, James (Helen) and Richard (Barbara) both of Kiel, one daughter, Joyce (Richard) Rader of Oak Creek and nine grandchildren. She is further survived by 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Gutschow of Kiel, one brother, Fred Voigt of Manitowoc, one sister-in-law, Ruth Thixton of Wing, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Marie Hansen of New Holstein. She was preceded in death by one sister, Evangeline Hahn.
Funeral services will be held at Zion Evangelical Church with the Rev. Ted Olsen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
