Mrs. Ferd. Heckmann was claimed by death last Thursday evening at her farm home in the town of Meeme, one mile south of School Hill. She had been ill for about four months with cancer of the liver. Mrs. Heckmann, nee Mary Lorfeld, was born in the town of Meeme on Jan. 3, 1863. After her marriage to Mr. Heckmann in 1883, the couple settled on their present farm, which is now the homestead, managed by their son, Herman.
Besides her husband, the survivors are five children, Mrs. Wm. Voigt of Centerville, Mrs. Otto Karstaedt of Town Meeme, Mrs. Ed Karstaedt of Town Newton, Herman on the homestead and William of Sheboygan Falls; also three brothers, one sister and 14 grandchildren.
Rev. W. Kuether conducted the funeral services which were held on Monday at 1:30 at the farm home, followed by rites at the Louis Corners church. The remains were interred in the adjoining cemetery.
