Ralph F. Karstaedt
Ralph Fred Karstaedt of Caring Hands Assisted Living, in New Holstein (former resident of Kiel) passed away peacefully Sunday morning August 21, 2016.

Ralph was born August 5th, 1930 in the town of Meeme to the late Frank Jr. and Amanda (Rabe) Karstaedt. . Ralph was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Louis Corners. He graduated from Mineral Springs School in 1944, in the town of Meeme. Ralph served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1955. On September 20th, 1958 he married Delores (Perl) at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheboygan, WI,. Besides farming for several years in the town of Meeme, he worked at Manitowoc Shipyard in the 70’s, Tecumseh in the 80’s and retired in 1994. After retirement, he drove bus for the Kiel School District for a few years.

Ralph enjoyed going up to his cabin, playing cards, Yahtzee, going to bingo, along with spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Delores, children, Debbie (Bruce) Dittmer of Kiel, Glenn (Fran) Karstaedt of Alabama, Todd Karstaedt of Fairfax, Virginia, Marybeth Nachtwey (Special friend Dan Preissner) of Kiel, Kim(Steven) Rolkosky of Kiel. He is further survived by his Grandchildren Travis (Ashley) Dittmer, Matthew (Holly) Dittmer, Jessica Dittmer (Special friend Paul Torsch), Andrew Karstaedt, Alissa Karstaedt(Special friend Everett Mallory), Joshua Kurtz(Fiancé Tammy Gasser), Amanda(Derek) Fritsch, Richard (Heather) Rolkosky, Stephanie Rolkosky. Step Grandkids Dan Schoohoven, Norma Schoohoven. Great-Grandchildren Tyler and Aislyn Dittmer, Addilyn Dittmer, Lakia and Javien Karstaedt, Wesley Yadon, Leo Kurtz, Emma Waterbury, and Olivia Rolkosky. He is also survived by 2 Brothers, Roger(Caroline) Karstaedt, Larry Karstaedt, 6 Sisters, Bernice(late Herb) Scharenbroch, Henrietta(late Seraphino) Marchiando, Julianna (late Ralph) Hickmann, Agnes (Vernon) Vogel, Virginia (Norb) Herbst, MarJean (Glenroy) Schmitz, 2 Brother-in-laws Victor(late Alyce Mae) Schanke, Raymond (Susan) Perl, Sister-in-Laws Marlene Voechting, Mary Ann(late Richard) Perl, Patsy (late Wilbert) Karstaedt, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father, Frank Karstaedt Jr., Mother, Amanda (Rabe) Karstaedt, Father-in-Law, Arthur Perl, Mother-in-Law, Stella Perl, 2 Children, Jeff and Lori Lynn Karstaedt, 2 Brothers Elmer(Verona) Karstaedt, Wilbert Karstaedt, 2 sisters Carolyn (William) Zimmerman, Alyce Mae Schanke, Brother-in-laws, Robert(Charlotte) Perl, Jerome Perl, Sister-in-laws, Nancy(Raymond) Surrarrer, Joanne(Ed) Otto, and Emma Schrimpf.

Funeral services for Ralph will be held at 1:30pm on Friday August 26, 2016 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church (19214 Cty Rd XX, Louis Corners)Family and friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00am until 1:15pm when we will have brief family rites prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Ralph's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff at Caring Hands Assisted Living and Heartland Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Ralph.
