Alvina E. Koeppen, age 85, formerly of St. Nazianz, died Tuesday evening,
September 10, 1996, at St. Mary's Home For the Aged, Manitowoc, where she
resided for the past four years.
Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, September 13, 1996, at
Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel. Rev. Ted Olsen, Pastor of Zion
Evangelical Lutheran Church, will officiate with burial in the church
cemetery.
She is the former Alvina Dekker, born April 6, 1911, in New Holstein, daughter
of the late John and Mathilda Greve Dekker. She attended school in New Holstein.
On June 14, 1930, she married Fred G. Koeppen Sr., in Louis Corners. He preceded
her in death on July 29, 1991. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Louis
Corners, Ladies Aid, St. Nazianz Senior Citizens and she drove for Meals on
Wheels.
Survivors include two sons, Glenroy (Joanne), Fritz Jr. (Mary Jo), both of St.
Nazianz; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law,
Reinhold Groell, Manitowoc; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Koeppen, Mesa, Ariz.,
Esther Dekker, West Bend. She was preceded in death by five brothers and four
sisters.
Friends may call at the Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home from 4 p.m. on Friday
until the time of service.
A memorial has been established for Zion Ev. Lutheran Church.
