Mrs. Ernestine Lawrenz, 87, of Rt. 2, Kiel, died early Sunday morning at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital. She had been ill since Wednesday.
Born Jan. 30, 1867, in Germany, she came to America with her parents in 1883, settling on a farm in the Town of Meeme in Manitowoc County.
She was married to August Lawrenz on Nov. 18, 1888. After their marriage, the couple settled in Prentice, Wis., for a few years before returning to the Lawrenz homestead in the Town of Meeme. Mrs. Lawrenz was a member of Zion Lutheran Church at Louis Corners.
Survivors are one son, Elmer, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Carl (Ida) Mueller, Mrs. Ella Mueller and Mrs. Harry (Ethel) Mueller, all of the Town of Meeme; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and two brothers, August and William Lawrenz, of Manitowoc.
Her husband died March 23, 1940. Her parents and two daughters also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran at Louis Corners. The Rev. William Hartwig, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be made in the church cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home at Kiel until 11 a.m. Tuesday, and at the church from Tuesday noon until the hour of services.
