AUGUST LENZ

August Lenz, 78, of 1218 Geele Ave., died at his home Wednesday afternoon.He had been in ill health for some time.
Born in the Town of Liberty in Manitowoc County on Feb. 21, 1885, he was a son of the late William and Henrietta Lenz. On Nov. 15, 1910, he married Lena Poppenhagen at Zion Lutheran Church at Louis Corners. The couple farmed in Manitowoc County for 33 years before moving to Sheboygan in 1944. For 15 years he worked at Plastics Engineering Co., retiring five years ago.

Mr. Lenz was a former clerk of the Woodland School in the Town of Meeme, a post he held for many years, was a former director of the Valders Telephone Co., and served on the cemetery committee of Zion Lutheran Church at Louis Corners.
Since moving to Sheboygan, he had been a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Survivors are his widow; four sons, Arnold and Norbert of Green Lake, Alvis of Newton, Clarence of Tomah; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Stock
of Manitowoc, Mrs. Anna Koenders of Castlewood, S.D. and a brother, Carl of Town of Liberty. Two children preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Arnold Wenger, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Louis Corners.
