Ingerburg "Inge" W. Matthies, 84, formerly of 1037 Sixth St., Kiel, died Sunday evening, March 16, 1997 at Willowdale Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein, where she resided since 1991.
She is the former Ingerburg Pieper born May 21, 1912 in Town of Eden, daughter of the late Herbert and Hilda Krueger Pieper. She attended school in Juneau, Wis. On Sept 2, 1932 she married Harold Matthies at Cascade Lutheran Church. She was employed at Lake to Lake, Kiel, retiring in 1978. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Louis Corners and the Ladies Aid Society of the church. She also was a member of the Louis Corners Homemakers and the Louis Corners Card Club.
Survivors include her husband, Harold, Kiel; two sons, David (Lillian) Kiel; Darwin (Mary Ellen) Kiel, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchild; two brothers, Harry (Jeanette) Pieper, Kiel; Harold (Carol) Pieper, Plymouth; one sister; Ruth Melis, Maryland, and very special friends, Clemens and Lorraine Konen. She was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Pieper.
Funeral services will be held at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Ted Olson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
