HAROLD A MATTHIES

Harold A Matthies, 88, of Kiel, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 16, 1997 at Calumet Medical Center, Chilton, where he had been a patient for the past three days.
He was born August 4, 1909 in Dundee, son of the late William and Ida Koepke Matthies. On Sept. 2, 1932 he married Ingerburg "Inge" Pieper at Cascade Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on March 16, 1997. Harold farmed in the Town of Schleswig until retirement in 1984. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Louis Corners and a past member of the Men's Club of the church. He also was a member of Louis Corner's Card Club.
Survivors include two sons, David (Lillian), Darwin (Mary Ellen) both of Kiel; very special friends, Clemens and Lorraine Konen, Cedar lake; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one brother, Ervin Matthies, Fond du Lac. Harold was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray, Arno and Orville and two sisters, Leona Hammen and Irma Bustoff.
Funeral services will be held at Zion Evangelical Lutheran church, Louis corners, with the Rev. Ted Olson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
