Robert A. Carter, 72, 121 N. 18th St., died at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Vincents Hospital, Indianapolis.
Born Jan. 7, 1910 in Elwood, he was the son of Thomas and Effie Carter and was married to Cleva Hackett, who survives.
He was a retired contractor and was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving, in addition to his wife are four children, Richard Dee Carter of San Antonio, TX, Jared Carter of Indianapolis, Mrs. John Ertle of Berea, KY and Miss Candace Carter of West Germany; four grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Helen Evans of Elwood.
The body will be cremated with a memorial service to be held at a later date. Copher and Fesler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church.
