FR. STANLEY T. BROWNE
(1939 - 2018)

Manitowoc - Rev. Stanley T. Browne, age 79, a current resident of Cape Coral, FL, entered eternal life on October 5, 2018.

Father Browne was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, to the late Theodore & Pauline (Gretz) Browne. He attended Lincoln High School in Manitowoc, and then the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and Marquette University. He attended seminary at Sacred Heart School of Theology, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Theology. Bishop Aloysius J. Wycislo ordained him on December 3, 1981, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Green Bay.

Father Stan's first appointment was as assistant pastor of SS. Peter and Paul Parish, Green Bay. From 1986 to 1989, he served as pastor of St. Francis Xavier Church, Brussels, and St. Mary of the Snows Parish, Namur. Father was appointed pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Green Bay in 1989 and served until 1996. He also served at St. Francis Parish, Hollandtown, and as Pastor of St. Mary of the Lake Parish, Lakewood from 2000 to 2002. Father Browne concluded his services for the diocese in 2002.

He was a member of the Presbyteral Council for three years and was appointed to the College of Consultors in 1990.

Father Browne is survived by many cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 12, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall (1114 South 21st Street), Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Very Rev. Luke Ferris, Vicar for Clergy, with burial to follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Manitowoc.

A Vigil will be held on Friday morning, October 12, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
