Dortha C. Adams, age 80, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2016 at the Claremont Nursing & Rehab Center in Carlisle.
She was born on July 31, 1935 in Carlisle to the late Lloyd and Helen Litner Hoerner.
Dortha was a graduate of Carlisle High School, Class of 1953. She and her husband, William, were the former owners of Adams Upholstery Shop in Carlisle for over 40 years. She also formerly worked as a bookkeeper at the James Line tax collection office.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, William L. Adams of Carlisle; a sister-in-law, Bernice Hoerner of Carlisle; a nephew, Eric Hoerner of Carlisle; and several great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Dortha was preceded in death by her brother, John W. Hoerner.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no viewing, visitation or services. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
