Golda Ostberg Cannon "Angel Mama" Our sweet Mama passed peacefully at home in Sandy, Utah June 17, 2007 where she has lived and been cared for the past 17 years with her daughter, Jayne, Mark, grandchildren, Tara, Sean, Jeff, Jordan, Logan and Kaila. Born February 2, 1919 in Caineville, Utah to John Jacob Alfred and Elsie Evangeline Cook Ostberg. Married Bert Munn Cannon June 24, 1935; solemnized October 20, 1936 in the Manti Temple. She raised her family in Torrey, Utah. Mama was a faithful member of the LDS Church and held many callings over the years, her last, in the library. She retired from Granite Central Kitchens where she worked for 30 years. Golda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who loved her family and gave of herself so willingly. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, crossword puzzles and singing to her grandchildren. Survived by daughters: Lois (LaDell) Taylor, DeOna (Jerry) Jones, Jayne (Mark) Cole, Lorna Cannon, Faye Cannon, Carma Taylor, Marilyn (Dennis) Christensen; sister, Laura Hunt; brothers-in-law: Von (Marilyn) Cannon, Fay (Daphne) Cannon; 42 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, Bert; mother, Elsie; father, Alfred; mother-in-law, Nellie Cannon; children: Dave, Glade, Ken, Elaine and Alfred; brothers: Ellis Ostberg, Victor Ostberg, Alfred Ostberg, Traverse Ostberg, Frank Hatt, Bill (Lora May) Cannon, Dale Cannon; great-grandchildren: Glade Fitzgerald, Serenity Fitzgerald, Chad and Chelsea Cannon, Haley Nolan. A special thanks to our sweet sister, Jayne, Mark and children for many years of tender, loving care of our sweet mother. Also special thanks to her care givers at Applegate Home Health: Margaret, Molly and Suzie and to Harmony Health and Cheryl Jacobs for many years of care and support. Funeral services will be held Thurs., June 21, 2007, 11:00 a.m. at the Granite 8th Ward, 9245 South Quail Run Drive (2360 East) where a viewing will be held, 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to service. Interment, Torrey Cemetery, Torrey, Utah.
